NC Newsline: North Carolina’s community land trusts seek higher profile as affordable housing option

North Carolina’s community land trusts are working to raise the profile of their housing preservation model, which its members see as a vital tool in the struggle for affordable housing in a rapidly growing state.

Several of the state’s trusts have launched the North Carolina Community Land Trust Coalition to share best practices and resources to shape housing policy, and “increase government and philanthropic support” for the programs by educating lawmakers and the public, as well as create homes that stay affordable for generations. RALT is a proud member of the NC Community Land Trust Coalition.
