Sarah Caldwell

Sarah Caldwell is a passionate nonprofit leader dedicated to helping organizations share their stories, strengthen their brands, and inspire community champions. With more than 18 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Sarah has led strategic communication and fundraising initiatives, advanced brand development, cultivated Board and donor relationships, and built cross-sector partnerships that drive lasting impact. As founder of Firefly Strategies, Sarah partners with nonprofits to turn storytelling and fundraising into powerful tools that elevate missions, amplify impact, and spark meaningful collaborations.
Her previous roles include Development Director at Note in the Pocket, Senior Director of Community Relations at MVLE, and Development Director at PHILLIPS Programs for Children and Families—both based in Northern Virginia. Sarah holds a Master of Public Administration with a Certification in Nonprofit Management from George Mason University and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science from Wake Forest University. As an Affiliate Contractor with Moss+Ross, Sarah has worked with Triangle based nonprofits including Healing Transitions, Triangle Family Services, and Raleigh Area Land Trust.
